In June, Lincoln USDA Federal Credit Union (Lincoln USDA) members voted “yes” to merge into First Nebraska Credit Union (FNCU, firstnebraska.org). The merge officially took place October 1, with Lincoln USDA Branch at Centennial Mall closing on September 30. Both branches made sure there were no lay-offs or elimination of any positions when the merge was complete.
“We are excited that the members of both credit unions recognize the benefits to merging FNCU and Lincoln USDA. This merger was a great fit for both organizations, strategically and culturally. We welcome Lincoln USDA members to our family, and look forward to helping them with their financial needs,” says Ann Loftis, president and CEO of FNCU.
Former Lincoln USDA FCU members can now do business at any of the five FNCU branches.
First Nebraska Credit Union’s mission is to provide professional services for the benefit of their members while reinforcing the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.” They currently serve more than 15,000 members, including about 160 select employee groups throughout the state of Nebraska and Iowa.
