Employer Registration Open for Greater Omaha Chamber’s Careerockit 2020
Registration is open through November 30 for employers interested in participating in the Greater Omaha Chamber’s (www.omahachamber.org) award-winning and no-cost business/educator learning initiative—Careerockit. Programming will be held February 10–17, 2020. Area businesses, of all sizes and from all sectors, host thousands of career experiences during this week, including tours, hands-on activities, presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and more.
Employers can register to host a career experience in order to give students a glimpse into what everyday life at their organization is like. By pairing businesses and employers with elementary through post-secondary students who are seeking engagement, information, and experience, Careerockit increases understanding of the synergies between education and employment, and it influences decisions for students’ chosen careers.
The largest effort of its kind in the nation, the Greater Omaha Chamber’s Careerockit has hosted more than 55,000 student experiences to date. The 2019 initiative recorded 21,488 career experiences fueled by nearly 200 participating businesses, 20+ school districts, and nearly 100 schools and nonprofits.
“An effort of this scale is only possible with countless partners and supporters. If you haven’t participated in Careerockit before, there’s no better time to get on board,” says David G. Brown, president and CEO, Greater Omaha Chamber.
