Cox Employees Award Over $140K to Area Nonprofits and Schools
Cox Charities (www.coxcharitiescentral.org) awarded $141,000 to greater Omaha area nonprofits and schools in the month of September through its Community Investment and Education grant programs. The Cox Charities program is fully funded and decided on by local employees, who are dedicated to making a positive impact in the areas of youth, education, social issues, and the arts. The Community Investment program is designed to assist 501(c)(3) organizations with outstanding programs benefitting Nebraska and Iowa service areas. The Education program is designed to assist teachers by enhancing student experiences through additional programmatic support.
This year’s Omaha-area community grant recipients are: Angels Among Us; Carole’s House of Hope; Children’s Hospital & Medical Center Foundation; CRCC; Franciscan Adult Day Center; Great Plains Black Museum and Interpretive Center; Heart Ministry Center; Intercultural Senior Center; Nebraska Enterprise Fund; Omaha Conservatory of Music; OneWorld Community Health Centers; Project Houseworks; Ronald McDonald House Charities Omaha; Siena Francis House; The Set Me Free Project; The Simple Foundation.
Education grant recipients across nine school districts include: All Saints School; Birchcrest Elementary; Burke High School; DC West Middle/High School; Gilder Elementary; One Oak School; Johnson Crossing Academic Center; Kreft Primary School; Leonard Lawrence Elementary; Mission Middle School; Mockingbird Elementary; Nelson Mandela Elementary; Oakdale Elementary School; Omaha Street School; Ralston High School; Rockbrook Elementary; Roosevelt Elementary; Sacred Heart School; Seymour Elementary School.
