CountryHouse of Elkhorn Opens Memory Care Home with Space for 40 Residents in Elkhorn
On January 6, CountryHouse at Elkhorn (countryhouse.net) opened their doors and began moving in new residents to join their memorycare family. Located at 3720 George B Lake Parkway, the world-class community is accepting new residents (with a capacity of 40 people) to help families whose lives have been touched by Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias. It is a 30,000-square-foot purpose-built residence, where those with memory loss can live comfortably in truly homelike surroundings, and it’s a community that local families can count on to provide their loved ones with a loving, caring, and safe home. CountryHouse is committed to treating all who live and work in their community like family.
Just like CountryHouse of Omaha and Council Bluffs, CountryHouse at Elkhorn offers services including free transportation—not just to doctor appointments but to anywhere within a certain radius of the community. Under the leadership of Director Beth Gonnerman, they also offer unique activities and outings that allow residents to continue to cultivate current interests, try new things, and truly live a fulfilling life, despite their illness. What’s more, they offer in-house physical and occupational therapy provided by their partner, EmpowerMe, as well as the services of their community physician, Dr. Lindsey Schindler, DO (doctor of osteopathic medicine), of Nebraska Medicine.
CountryHouse at Elkhorn is the newest community opened by parent company Agemark Senior Living in Elkhorn. Other CountryHouse communities in the area are located in Council Bluffs, Omaha, Lincoln (three locations), Grand Island, and Kearney. Agemark Senior Living also is the parent company of The Meriwether in La Vista and The Kensington in Beatrice and Hastings.
