Imagine your only form of transportation is putting one foot in front of the other and walking. The soles of your shoes are worn through or perhaps they’re a size too small, giving you perpetual blisters. There are too many in our community facing this issue every day.

That’s why Cornhusker Bank (CornhuskerBank.com) is proud to support the Stephen Center by organizing the Day Without Shoes shoe collection campaign, from April 22-May 5.

Day Without Shoes began to help raise awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a person’s life. During a campaign held every April, the community is encouraged to donate their new or used shoes or make a cash donation to help struggling families get a pair of shoes.

A partnership that began in 2011, benefiting People’s City Mission in Lincoln, created such impact that in 2020 a partnership was created with Stephen Center to provide support to the Omaha community as well. Since its inception, members of Lincoln, Omaha and the surrounding communities have collected over 284,000 pairs of shoes and monetary donations totaling over $110,000!

Cornhusker Bank remains locally owned, built on trust, integrity and a commitment to the community. For more information visit CornhuskerBank.com.
