Clearwater Counseling Champions for Bullying Prevention

National Bullying Prevention Month takes place each October, offering a special time to focus and raise awareness on bullying and prevention. Clearwater Counseling (clearwatercounselingpc.org) encourages people to get involved in the conversation and work to end bullying. Bullying, an unwanted and aggressive behavior among school-aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance, is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, behavior over time. Bullying can include actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group.

The purpose of Bullying Prevention Month is to work to transform a society that accepts bullying into a society that recognizes that bullying must be addressed through education and support. It’s also important to note that those who have been bullied often benefit from mental health services in order to recover from the inflicted trauma.

Clearwater Counseling works with clients in the Grand Island and Omaha area who are struggling with a variety of mental health diagnoses including depression, relationship issues, stress, grief/loss/trauma, addiction and recovery, co-dependency, anxiety and phobias, parenting problems, sexual abuse and incest, physical abuse and violence, as well as various others.
