On Friday, July 14, United Way of the Midlands (UWM) was honored to receive a check from the Omaha Storm Chasers during their “Christmas in July” game at Werner Park.
The check was the result of a special fundraiser the Storm Chasers held in celebration of two remarkable milestones – the team welcoming four million fans through their gates, and in celebration of UWM’s 100th anniversary of serving the metro. A total of $5,380 was raised by donating $4 from each ticket sold for the Storm Chasers’ game on June 17 back to UWM to help those in our community who need it most.
UWM President & CEO Shawna Forsberg and Digital Marketing Manager Bekah Noxon attended the game for the special check presentation.
For 100 years, United Way of the Midlands has served the Omaha-Council Bluffs metro by bringing together the business and not-for-profit sectors to create a Circle of Support that helps our neighbors overcome difficult challenges and start building a better future. UWM is incredibly thankful for the continued partnership with the Omaha Storm Chasers and for their strong commitment to our community.
