BFF Partners with Refocus Omaha to Launch City-Wide Visual Storytelling Effort
BFF (www.bffomaha.org) partners with Refocus Omaha, a project started by members of Leadership Omaha class 43, to launch a city-wide visual storytelling effort that showcases peoples’ unique perspective from their diverse communities via images posted on Instagram (@refocusomaha).
Photographs will be chosen by the Refocus Omaha team and shared on Instagram, culminating in a public exhibition and limited publication of a juried selection of photographs in June 2021. Published photographs will be chosen based on the following criteria: originality and creativity, composition and design, unique perspective/story, and entertainment value. Submissions are now open—all ages are encouraged to participate.
Refocus Omaha aims to bring together Omaha’s many communities and perspectives through visual storytelling. They chose to partner with BFF because BFF is dedicated to supporting the region’s emerging and established artists by creating opportunity, exposure, and experiences that help them move forward while enriching the cultural competency of the Greater Omaha Area.
