BBB Recognizes 2020 Community Heroes with $900 to Food Bank for the Heartland

The Better Business Bureau (BBB, bbb.org/Nebraska) recently recognized nine 2020 Community Hero organizations from metro Omaha—Bel Air Fashions, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of NE, Dirty Doodles, Heartland Family Service, Hurrdat, Midwest Matchmaking, Noddle Companies, Papillion Windows and Siding, and Pegasus Travel— with a $100 donation in each company’s honor to the Food Bank for the Heartland. The Community Heroes were BBB’s Accredited Businesses that submitted videos or recorded verbal descriptions explaining how they persevered during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 while still going above and beyond to support their employees, customers, and communities. The stories are ones of tenacity and ability to pivot to overcome adversity while navigating the rough waters of the pandemic. You can watch the powerful videos at bbb.org/Nebraska.

“2020 was a very difficult year for everyone,” said BBB President and CEO Jim Hergarty. “We are pleased to recognize those businesses, both large and small, from across our service area that time and effort to tell us what they have done—not only to survive, repurpose, and innovate, but to also help others during these trying times. They are BBB’s 2020 Community Heroes!”
