During the past three years, women have been launching businesses at nearly three times the rate of men, according to the Center for Women’s Business Research.  There’s no doubt about it, entrepreneurship for women has become a national movement.

Beka Doolittle (thepinkstore.com) and Leslie Fischer (TAGG) both have a gift of gab.  They met at a Panera and quickly realized how many things they had in common in terms of starting a business.  And while both of them attend many networking events, there weren’t a lot of women who attended and even fewer who owned their own business.   Both Doolitte and Fischer had met several women in the Ladies Who Launch – Lincoln area and were impressed by the response and camaraderie the group possesses.  However, the commute made it difficult to go regularly on top of work and personal obligations.  So, they decided to start their own group in Omaha and plan to coordinate a few events with Lincoln during the year.  Fischer and Doolittle also sought the help of Rachelle McGuigan (Infinity Wellness) to help coordinate the fall calendar.  The goal of the group is to be the most supportive, engaging and refreshing group where women feel comfortable to talk about their challenges and successes.

Ladies Who Launch Omaha will launch Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 5:30pm at the Clancy’s on 114 and Dodge. For more information, contact ladieswholaunchomaha@gmail.com
