The Nebraska Building Chapter of the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) recently announced the winners of its 2014 Build Nebraska Awards. The award program is designed to recognize outstanding projects built by member firms. Projects were evaluated based on innovation in methods and materials, project management, client service, challenge of a difficult job and sensitive treatment of the environment and surroundings.

On October 23rd the top Projects of the Year and Honorable Mention Projects were announced in five categories.

New Construction Projects Under $5 Million: Project of the Year: Norfolk Veterans Home Heroes Park, Norfolk; Beckenhauer Construction, Inc. Honorable Mention Project: Quality Living Inc. Long Term Care Summit, Omaha; Kiewit Building Group Inc.

New Construction Projects $5-$15 Million: Project of the Year: IAC Acoustics GT Exhaust Manufacturing Facility, Lincoln; Cheever Construction Company. Honorable Mention Project: Educare Child Development Center, Winnebago; Sampson Construction Co., Inc.

New Construction Projects Over $15 Million: Project of the Year: The 50/50 Mixed Use Facility, Lincoln; Hausmann Construction Inc. Honorable Mention Project: Nebraska Crossing Outlet Redevelopment, Gretna; Kiewit Building Group Inc.

Building Renovation Any Dollar Amount: Project of the Year: Kregel Windmill Factory Renovation, Nebraska City; Sampson Construction Co., Inc. Honorable Mention Project: Ansley Public School Addition and Renovations, Ansley: Paulsen, Inc.

Specialty Contractors: Project of the Year: Nebraska Innovation Campus Central Renewable Energy System, Lincoln; General Excavating. Honorable Mention Project: CRES Nebraska Innovation Campus, Lincoln; MMC Contractors.
