The 2013 U.S. Senior Open Championship and the United States Golf Association (USGA) will honor the military in Nebraska and around the country by hosting Military Appreciation Day during the 2013 U.S. Senior Open, held at Omaha County Club on Tuesday, July 9.  All military personnel and their families, both active and retired, with proper identification will receive complimentary admission to Tuesday’s practice round. In addition to free admission for all military, The Dennis Walters Golf Show will be held on July 9 at 2 p.m. on the practice range. Military Appreciation Day runs in conjunction with the USGA’s initiative that provides free admission for all kids 17 and under when accompanied by a ticketed adult. Each ticketed adult can bring up to nine kids.

The 34th U.S. Senior Open, to be held July 8-14 at Omaha Country Club, will feature a field of 156 of the world’s best professional and amateur senior golfers (over the age of 50). Players eligible to compete include Fred Couples, Fred Funk, Bernhard Langer, Tom Lehman, and Tom Watson. The U.S. Senior Open will be the first ever USGA championship hosted by Omaha Country Club.  NBC and ESPN will provide at least 16 hours of live television coverage of all four rounds of the championship.
