Bankers Trust (bankerstrust.com), Iowa’s largest independently owned bank, has announced the promotion of Samantha Mosser to president, effective August 1. Mosser now serves as Nebraska president and has played a key role in expanding the bank’s presence in that market. She joined Bankers Trust in 2022 and brings more than 27 years of banking experience.

“One of the most important responsibilities I have as a leader is to help ensure our success continues,” said Don Coffin, CEO of Bankers Trust. “Samantha’s appointment reflects our confidence in the next generation of leaders and honors the legacy built by our longer-serving team members.” Coffin will continue to serve as CEO, setting strategic direction. Mosser joins executive leadership team members Emily Abbas, Scott Eltjes, Tina Smith Fritz and Todd Wishman, who have long histories of serving the Central Iowa community through volunteerism, board service and more than $1 million in annual nonprofit giving.

Mosser will relocate to Des Moines and plans to become active in the community, as she has in Omaha. Her past involvement includes board service with Children’s Nebraska Hospital, the Omaha Chamber of Commerce, Child Saving Institute, United Way Campaign Cabinet and others. “The Board is pleased to welcome Samantha into this key leadership role,” said John Ruan IV, Chairman. “She brings a strong track record of leadership, industry insight and a deep commitment to our values.”

Mosser said she is honored to serve as president and looks forward to helping grow the bank’s legacy of trust, service and innovation. Founded in 1917, Bankers Trust is headquartered in Des Moines and has $7 billion in assets. For more information, visit (bankerstrust.com).
