American Red Cross Offers Free Disaster Preparedness Training

American Red Cross (redcross.org) encourages the community to be prepared in the event of a disaster by participating in their preparedness training, Be Red Cross Ready.

Be Red Cross Ready is a national, standardized, free preparedness education curriculum for adults taught by certified presenters. The program is designed to help people understand, prepare for, and respond appropriately to disasters.

Becoming “Red Cross Ready” for an emergency means following simple steps in advance to ensure one can weather a crisis safely and comfortably. The curriculum has the option to mix and match emergency preparedness modules on relevant local hazards for your community. For more information, please visit redcross.org/prepare.

The mission of the American Red Cross is to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. The Red Cross shelters, feeds, and provides emotional support to victims of disasters from home fires to major events such as hurricanes, floods, or tornadoes.
