AIM Institute Offers FREE Web Development Course at AIM Brain Exchange

Do you seek to break into the web development field? Do you need to learn the necessary skills to build websites and program for the web? AIM Institute is hosting a free in-person course for community members at the AIM Brain Exchange.
Foundations of Web Development will help students learn the basic concepts of responsive web development. The 128-hour course runs from Sept. 10 through Dec. 19 on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Students will learn the value of design, how to extract details from an Adobe Photoshop design file and core concepts of UI (User Interface), UX (User Experience) and UCD (User-Centered Design). For the final project, students will build a modern, single-page web application that utilizes industry best practices.
When the course concludes, students will learn how to work with JavaScript, jQuery, the browser and DOM, the fundamentals of JavaScript and how to build a modern, single-page website that utilizes common design patterns.
Ideal class participants include career transitioners, as well as novices and newbies. Students must be 18 years of age or older to participate in this program or a senior in high school. No prior coding experience is required! A Macintosh or PC laptop that is 3 years old or newer is a course prerequisite.
