Working at McGill Restoration is a great career choice!

At McGill Restoration (www.McGillRestoration.com), we invest in our employees! In the construction industry, it can be difficult to stay busy and maintain a consistent career. We work hard to keep our employees busy year-round. We also take pride in our training programs, which we offer to our employees throughout the year.

In the first six months of 2019, we have committed to providing 1,300 hours of training to our field employees. This training includes our Foreman in Training Program (FIT), operator training for our specialty equipment, and hands-on training for our field employees to learn new skills, which will advance them within our trade. Along with training for our field workers, we offer training and education for our office personnel, administrative personnel and shop employees as well. We believe to retain good employees, we need to elevate them! Continued training is important to McGill Restoration, and ensures that our employees learn and grow both as individuals, as well as members of our company.

The Foreman in Training (FIT) Program is a way of identifying leaders that we can train and develop into foremen for McGill Restoration. FIT participants are invited to take part in an extensive training program and given the tools for success as a foreman within our business. We believe that training and development is important for our employees to grow. Our goal is to provide people with the necessary tools to make the transition from field employee to foreman as successful as possible.

McGill Restoration also partners with industry organizations to participate in the educational opportunities they provide. We regularly partner with organizations such as Association of General Contractors (AGC), International Concrete Repair Institute (ICRI), Sealant Waterproofing and Repair Institute (SWRI), and Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) to help educate and train our team.

We recently brought on two estimator/project managers in our continued quest to hire top talent. Over the next several years, we will invest in these two team members, continually providing them with training and tools for success within our trade. Part of our strategy to retain good employees is to promote them once they have gained the knowledge and tools needed to be leaders within our company. Many of our management level positions are currently held by people who have climbed the career ladder with our company, making a long-term commitment to the training and work ethic valued by McGill Restoration.

With the unemployment rate at a record low, recruiting within the construction field can be difficult. However, our reputation has allowed us to choose the best employees for our business. We want to help our employees succeed, as long as they have the desire and the drive to do so.
