Arthur the King, a movie about the unbreakable bond between an adventure racer and his adopted dog, is the latest feature during the Summer Saturdays FREE outdoor movies hosted by Heartwood Preserve. Prior to the movie, the Nebraska Humane Society will be onsite to share educational information on pet adoption.

Summer Saturdays feature movies, lawn games and live entertainment each August Saturday night in Heartwood Park at The Bosque, the central area of the park accessed from 145th Street. Free activities include: a DJ who will play music and host games, including trivia with prizes; caricatures; lawn games such as Giant Jenga, Giant Chess, and Cornhole; and free kids’ offerings including an obstacle bounce course, face painting, and balloon animals.

The upcoming movie lineup features Arthur the King (Aug. 17), The Parent Trap (Aug. 24), and Elf (Aug. 31).

Delicious food and drink offerings, including adult beverages, will be available for purchase from popular area food trucks including Taste of Heaven, Haven Express, Hudson’s Mini Donuts and Midwest Mixers. Also available for purchase will be to-go boxed dinners from nearby Heartwood restaurants Charleston’s, Mahogany Prime Steakhouse, Little King Deli & Subs, and Starbucks.

Ample free parking is available across from Heartwood Park between Canopy and Dewey avenues along 145th Street.

Moviegoers are encouraged to bring low-back lawn or beach chairs and blankets. Picnic tables and umbrellas will be available for the attendees to enjoy.
