Amy Knobbe is the Co-Founder/Managing Partner at Pando PEO (pandopeo.com).
Tell us a little about your business. – Pando PEO is a Professional Employer Organization. We offer a wide range of HR services to businesses, including payroll administration, benefits management, tax administration and assistance with regulatory compliance. By partnering with a PEO, businesses can offload these tasks and concentrate their efforts on their core operations, unlocking greater potential for success.
How did you get started in the business? – Coincidence played a significant role in how I ended up in the PEO business. My brother was interning at a local PEO and there happened to be an opening, so I decided to apply. Little did I realize that this decision would set me on a path toward a successful career in PEO, eventually leading me to become an entrepreneur and the co-founder of Pando PEO.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Establishing Pando PEO has been my greatest accomplishment professionally. In July 2022, my business partner and I launched the company with only two laptops and no capital, products, staff or clients. Today, we are proud to serve 140 clients and 3,200 worksite employees, supported by a team of 16 internal members.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – Losing my mom was a pivotal moment in my life. It taught me the value of time and the importance of making it count. This experience made me realize that life is precious and fragile, and we only get one chance to live it fully. It inspired me to pursue my dreams with determination and passion.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Travel and play golf.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I’m an Ironman. I completed my first Ironman in May of 2021.
Who inspires you? – The Pando Team is a source of inspiration for me. The passion, dedication and drive that they demonstrate daily motivates me to strive for excellence in my leadership role. I am honored to be part of such an innovative and talented team, working together to create something extraordinary. We push ourselves to be better and fearlessly pursue our vision to make it a reality.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – “Excellence is never an accident.
