On Thursday, June 27, MICAH House (themicahhouse.org) hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Florence M. Lakin Child Development Center. The event was marked by a welcome speech from Ashley Flater, Executive Director of MICAH House, highlighting the importance of this new addition to the community.

The Florence M. Lakin Child Development Center is designed to provide a nurturing and educational environment for children by providing affordable, trauma-informed childcare for families experiencing the crisis of homelessness and to community families. Children staying at MICAH House will receive immediate access to childcare and will be able to keep their enrollment even when they transition out of the shelter.

The Florence M. Lakin Child Development Center will officially open its doors on Monday, July 8, and enrollment is now open. MICAH House encourages parents and guardians to secure a spot for their children in this state-of-the-art facility.
