The Nebraska Safety Council (nesafetycouncil.org) continues to expand education to equip adult student drivers with classroom and behind-the-wheel experience to help them become confident, safe, and courteous drivers. The goal of this program is to make Nebraska roads safer for all motorists. The course includes eight hours of in-person classroom training and six hours of behind-the-wheel training.
Classes will be available beginning in February. Classes are scheduled for:
February:
- (One-Day) February 11 or 18
- (Three-Day Evening Class) February12-14 or 26-28
March:
- (One-Day) March 10 or 17
- (Three-Day Evening Class) March 4-6 or 18-20
“Adult driver education gives new adult student drivers or previous teen driver education graduates, an opportunity to enhance existing skills, to keep themselves and others safe on the road. The course curriculum includes eight hours of in-person or online classroom training, six hours of hands-on driving, five hours of observation and a half hour behind-the-wheel test,” explained John M. Lefler, Jr, NESC Executive Director. “Upon completion of the course, adult student drivers will have new decision-making techniques, safer driving practices and a better understanding of how being a defensive driver makes them safer on the road.”
