Meet Mary Weber, a Pediatric Dentist with Pediatric Dental Specialists of Omaha (pdsomaha.com).
Tell us a little about your business. – Our office provides dental care for children from infancy to adolescence. As pediatric dentists we have extra training and schooling to provide our patients with the best care. Our team is prepared and skilled to provide care for all children, including children with special needs.
How did you get started in the business? – As a child I loved going to the dentist. As I got older, I knew I wanted to work in healthcare. After shadowing at a pediatric dental office, I knew this was the career I wanted to pursue. I love working with children and I can’t imagine doing anything else.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Becoming board certified in pediatric dentistry. The process to become a board certified pediatric dentist is lengthy and difficult. I am so thankful to have completed it successfully.
Tell us a little about your family. – My husband’s name is Mike and we met while attending dental school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Mike is now an Orthodontist in the Omaha area. We have recently added a sweet puppy named Murphy to our family. We also have a niece and two nephews that bring so much joy to our lives!
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – I believe moving back to Omaha is one of the biggest turning points! My husband and I love it here and being close to family is such a blessing.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I enjoy getting outside with my family and going on walks with Murphy. Mike and I love traveling and experiencing new places together.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I played volleyball through college! I loved being part of a team and competing at a high level all over the country. While I was playing, we were also able to travel to Japan and China to train with many international teams.
Who inspires you? – My parents have always inspired me as they are the hardest workers I have ever met. Not only did they instill great work ethic in me and my sister, but they always took time to make lasting memories!
If you could have a super power, what would it be? – I wish I could fly, I would love to be able to see more of the world! It would also be wonderful to be able to see friends and family that live far away as often as I would like!
What is your greatest talent that you don’t utilize in your daily work life? – I really like to knit and crochet. My grandmother made us the most beautiful blankets that I will cherish forever, and I hope to do the same for my family and friends!
What local nonprofit organizations are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – Mike and I just moved back to Omaha a couple weeks ago, but we look forward to researching local nonprofits and churches that we hope to be a part of.
