Jennie Edmundson Foundation Announces Year-End Transportation Campaign
Keeping their patients on the road to recovery is a key reason for the 2020 Jennie Edmundson Foundation’s (jehfoundation.org) year-end Transportation Campaign. The goal is to raise $100,000 to replace the hospital’s aging Medi-Bus, a service vehicle fully funded by the JE Foundation that helps ensure access to healthcare for thousands of patients at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital each year.
For nearly four decades, the hospital has provided transportation, at no charge, to people dealing with chronic disease or undergoing therapy. For the past nine years, their current bus has transported more than 27,000 patients, approximately 3,000 patients per year, and traveling over 28,000 miles a year. The foundation’s goal is to replace the current bus with a more cost-effective, handicap-accessible, multi-passenger Medi-Van.
Without this service, many individuals who do not have the means to get to their appointments simply would not continue their treatment for physical therapy, chemotherapy, radiation treatment, wound center therapy, cardiac rehabilitation, or other essential healthcare appointments.
Help the Jennie Edmundson Foundation continue to keep the wheels rolling by making a contribution to the 2020 Transportation Campaign. For more information or to make an online donation, please visit their website at jehfoundation.org.
