Omaha Fashion Week Uses “Fashion for Good” During Its Spring Season
Omaha Fashion Week (OFW) (www.omahafashionweek.com) is excited to kick off another showcase, February 25–March 2! OFW’s “Fashion for Good” season is a week dedicated to supporting the community, inspiring students, and showcasing emerging and established design talent.
Doors to Omaha Design Center open each evening at 6 p.m. Join OFW before the shows for the Pretty in Patina Pre-Party with live entertainment and shopping in the Pop-Up Shop Market, as well as the Borsheims Red Carpet Experience! Plus, don’t miss out on the Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery and Dreams MedSpa VIP Lounge, where you can take in all the fashion and glamour with complimentary hors d’oeuvres and drinks from the ABSOLUT ELYX Bar! It all leads up to the main event: a packed showcase on the Allure Health & Med Spa Runway to Beauty! The show schedule is as follows:
Monday, February 25: Omaha Wedding Salon—Brides can plan their big day in fashion by enjoying an evening of inspiration at this glamorous bridal themed showcase. From a high-end runway show full of local designers and boutiques, to a vendor market showcasing endless inspiration, brides can check everything off their wedding list!
Tuesday, February 26: Metropolitan Community College Student Night—Features student collections from local high schools and mentoring programs. The show will be preceded by a Q&A panel discussion on careers in creative industries, such as fashion, photography, design, and more! (Panel TBA) Blocks of complimentary tickets are available for student groups by emailing info@omahafashionweek.com.
Wednesday, February 27: UNL Student Showcase—Produced by Omaha Fashion Week in partnership with UNL’s Department of Textiles, Merchandising and Fashion Design (TMFD), this student-centered event features incredibly creative original works from senior fashion design students.
Thursday, February 28: Methodist Survivor Show—Celebrate the triumph over cancer as 100+ survivors take over the runway wearing looks from local boutiques! Presented by Methodist Hospital, part of proceeds benefit the Inner Beauty Salon at Methodist Estabrook Cancer Center.
Friday, March 1: ADORNED Emerging Designer Showcase—This popular evening puts the spotlight on the region’s best emerging design talent, delivering an unforgettable night of creativity and cutting-edge fashion.
Saturday, March 2: Featured Designer Showcase—The crown jewel on top of an amazing week of fashion, culture, and creativity, this is the night for the region’s most talented and seasoned designers, many of whom will sell their collections right from the runway!
Sunday, March 3: Shop the Runway Sunday—Join the OFW Team at Omaha Design Center from 11 a.m to 2 p.m. for a “breakfast of champions” featuring donuts and mimosas. Guests will have the opportunity to shop the collections featured on the runway and meet the designers behind the clothing! Free and open to the public.
