Terri and Tim Burke to Receive Midlands Community Foundation Reflection Award
Midlands Community Foundation (www.midlandscommunity.org) is pleased to announce that Terri and Tim Burke will receive the Reflection Award at the organization’s 2019 Reflection Ball on January 19, 2019 at the Embassy Suites in LaVista.
Terri worked at Central Telephone in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and St. Pius X High School in Lincoln. She has volunteered at St. Mary’s Elementary, St. Matthews Catholic School, Gross Catholic High School, Children’s Hospital, Mercy Housing Crestview, and Kellom Elementary. Terri has received the United Way’s Outstanding Volunteer Award and Mercy Housing’s Live in Hope Award.
Tim has worked in the utility industry for more than 36 years, currently as president and CEO of Omaha Public Power District. He is a board member of the Omaha Chamber and United Way. Tim’s other board affiliations include American Public Power Association, Large Public Power Council, Nebraska Power Association, Business Ethics Alliance Trustee, Partnership for Kids, StratCom Consultation Committee, Offutt Air Force Base Advisory Council and the Nebraska Blue Print Initiative Steering Committee. He received the Bellevue Chamber’s Distinguished Service Award, the Sarpy County Chamber’s Business Leadership of the Year Award, and the Institute for Career Advancement Needs’ Leadership Award.
The Burkes have chaired Heartland Family Service’s Carnival of Love and the American Heart Association’s Heart Ball and they are the 2018 Chairs of the United Way’s Annual Campaign. The Burke family received Heartland Family Services’ “Salute to Families – Leadership Family Award” in 2015.
