League of Women Voters Provides Voters’ Guide and Candidate Forums
The League of Women Voters of Greater Omaha (LWVGO) says “Go Vote, Omaha!” with its Voters’ Guide and video recorded candidate forums.
The League’s non-partisan Voters’ Guide to Douglas County candidates will be out in early October. Copies will be available at area public libraries and other locations. The Guide can also be found on the League’s web site at omahalwv.org and at Vote411.org. The Guide can be found in the October edition of “The Reader” as well.
The Greater Omaha League has a weekly 30 minute television show called “Go Vote, Omaha!” featuring issues important to voters so they are ready and willing to go vote. The show airs weekly Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. on Omaha KPAO (Cox 22 or CenturyLink 89) with archived shows on YouTube. (Search for League of Women Voters Greater Omaha GOVOTEOmaha)
Candidate Forums have been featured on the show and include: Nebraska Legislative Districts 7, 13, 31, 39, and 45; OPPD; MUD; Douglas County Board-5; Omaha Public Schools Board of Education; Millard Board of Education; State Board of Education; Learning Community; Coordinating Councils 2 and 6; 2nd Congressional District; Death Penalty Ballot Proposal; and Three-part series on the Death Penalty.
