Tell us a little about your family.
My wife, Cece, and step children, Dana and TJ, are a joy to spend time with. We enjoy following University of Nebraska athletics including: football, baseball and volleyball.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
Meeting my wife Cece. She is a wonderful woman who is honest, straightforward and has the greatest sense of humor of anyone I know.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Get projects done at home and on the farm.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
I love the farm. Working on the farm gives me time to reflect and has taught me the virtue of hard work. I achieve a sense of accomplishment when projects are complete.

What are you the most proud of?
Raising two, wonderful stepchildren, Dana and TJ, to be outstanding, young and productive adults. I’ve been blessed to be a part of their lives. Like all young adults, they have their own struggles, however it’s so fulfilling to see the values, principles, morals and ethics that my wife and I taught them shaping their lives—I am so proud of them. One has completed their targeted education and is considering additional schooling. The other is in the midst of their junior year in college and will graduate in 2012.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Success is the sum of all our failures and each day is a new opportunity to learn. I take the opportunity to learn from failure and then turn those learning experiences in to successes.

Passing my ASIS Physical Security Professional exam.
