Copper found his home at Goldsmith Silversmith 12 years ago when one of the employees went on a trip to Sioux Falls. She returned to work with a kitten that not only needed a home but that she just HAD to have. It was a proposition that owner Dwaine Ferguson couldn’t refuse, mainly because Copper had already claimed his territory and settled in the moment he arrived. He was named in honor of his new home, and he has been a part of the Goldsmith Silversmith family ever since.
Depending on his mood, you can either find Copper greeting and playing with guests or lazing around the store. He especially enjoys younger visitors, but is generally friendly to everyone who comes into the store and enjoys all of the attention. He even has his own friends who stop by the store just to see him! However, he draws the line with other animals coming into his store—Copper is in charge, and he makes it known. Watching over his territory is a tough job, so of course snooze breaks are a regular part of his daily routine. His signature resting position of lying on his back with his legs stretched out is always good for a laugh.
The best part of having Copper around is that he makes people feel so comfortable and welcome, and Goldsmith Silversmith wouldn’t be the same without him!
