Karen Sokolof Javitch, a well-known songwriter, singer and playwright, has released her musical tribute to Steve Jobs.
“I am so grateful that nationally known musician Chuck Penington (Mannheim Steamroller-Grammy Award Winner) was able to work with me on this project so quickly. The song titled “It’s a Steve Jobs’ World Out There” will be the main song on my tribute album, which will be out in a few weeks. It will be dedicated to Steve and the proceeds from the album will go towards Pancreatic Cancer Research.”
Karen Sokolof Javitch has raised over $200,000 for national and local charities though her original music and musicals. Her shows, including a musical about Princess Diana, have been performed in Los Angeles, Chicago, St. Louis, New York as well as Omaha. Two of her songs have been in movies. She has won two Omaha Tag Awards-(Theatre Actors Guild). On the 11 CDs she has produced, singers include actor John Beasley, U.S. Senator Ben Nelson, Broadway singer Joanna Young, Heisman Trophy winner Eric Crouch, and the American Idol Maynard triplets.
