Omaha-based ConAgra Foods, one of North America’s leading food companies, is the winner of the 2014 Young Professionals (YP) Choice Award, an honor recognizing organizations that excel in attracting, retaining and developing young professionals. ConAgra will formally receive the YP Choice Award on March 6, 2014, at the 2014 Young Professionals Summit, the signature event of the Greater Omaha Young Professionals. UMB Bank continues a tradition of YP Choice Award sponsorship with the 2014 award.
Young professionals nominated dozens of companies for the YP Choice Award. A selection committee narrowed the field to four finalists, and then toured and evaluated each company. Andres Torres, a civil engineer with Valmont Industries, served as the selection committee chairperson and representative from the Greater Omaha Young Professionals board. Other finalists for the 2014 Young Professionals Choice Award included DLR Group, Goodwill Industries Inc. serving Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa, and TD Ameritrade.
Individuals and companies interested in the unique recruitment and retention programs by the finalist companies should participate in the YP Choice Award Finalist Discussion in the afternoon session at the Summit.
