Meet Sameer Khan, Vice President of Accounting at Milan Laser (milanlaseromaha.com).

Tell us a little about your business. – My role is to encourage the growth of Milan while accurately presenting our financial records and safeguarding our assets. I currently oversee the accounting, financial reporting, tax, treasury and supply-chain departments of Milan.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – This is a tough one to answer, my career has been centered around assisting high growth companies in achieving their key objectives. This regularly requires the need to balance both the urgent and the important. Both need to be equally prioritized and both need to get done. Finding the right mix has time and time again proven to be my biggest challenge and achievement.

Tell us a little about your family. – I’m thankful to say I have an amazing wife, Shauna, and we have two adorable pups – Rupee (English bulldog mix) and Tumi (Frenchie).

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Much like many others I love to recharge by spending time with my wife and our dogs, also golf.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – I hold my fourth black belt in Shotokan and use to fight competitively in Muay Thai and Boxing.

Who inspires you? – I’ve had many great leaders and mentors in my life – all of which I owe a tremendous amount to; of those leaders I’m most inspired by my parents.

What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – You don’t get a second chance with your reputation and values – never compromise who you are and what you believe in.

If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be? – Kind.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – I have shamefully thought of this too often. Telekinesis would have to be my number one pick. You capture almost all the other popular superpowers with the magnificent ability to use your mind.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – Either an F1 driver or a professional golfer. Being out on a track or on a golf course, everyday, would be a fantastic career to have!

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – Tai-Pan by James Clavell; a phenomenal piece of historical fiction that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout. Highly recommend!

What is your favorite local Omaha restaurant? – My wife and I recently moved to Omaha – our go to favorite has been Yoshitomo, we love the food and the vibe.

If our readers would like to contact you, how should they do so? – I am ever eager to meet new people and grow my network – you can find me on Linkedin!
