The Board of Directors for Radio Talking Book Services (RTBS) today announced Bryan L. Freeman, CNP, CPM, will replace John Fullerton, as executive director. Fullerton will retire January 31, after 18 years with the organization.

Freeman is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, where he worked more than 20 years in radio broadcasting and management. Freeman earned a bachelor of General Studies degree from the University of Nebraska Omaha with concentrations in Nonprofit Administration and Law. To extend his professional education, Freeman earned the credentials of Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) and Certified Public Manager© (CPM) from UNO. During the past two years at Banister’s Leadership Academy, Freeman used his education as a leadership program specialist, eventually serving as vice president of development until his departure in December to RTBS.

Radio Talking Book Services (www.rtbs.org), a Nebraska 501c3 nonprofit organization, is one of Nebraska‘s oldest reading services and one of six of the nation’s first organizations to provide such services.  During the last 40 years, RTBS has provided access to printed information for Nebraskans who cannot read conventional print because of blindness or any other visual, physical or learning disability.

Freeman replaces John Fullerton, who served as executive director for 18 years.  Fullerton is the son of the late Dr. Craig Fullerton, who was an assistant superintendent of the Omaha Public Schools, and one of the founders of Radio Talking Book Services (RTBS).
