The NorthStar Foundation is pleased to announce Rebecca Chambers, Academic Manager and DeAntae Grixby, Athletic and Outreach Manager have joined the organization’s staffing team.

Rebecca Chambers, Academic Manager, is responsible for academic program delivery, program evaluation, curriculum development, staff training, and integration of technology into the after-school program. Prior to joining NorthStar, Chambers spent five years teaching, coaching, and developing wellness and curriculum programs for Russell Middle School in the Millard Public School district. Chambers holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education as well as a Master’s of Science degree in Secondary Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is currently working to attain a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership/Administration from Doane College.

DeAntae Grixby, Athletic & Outreach Manager, is engaged in outreach and recruitment of students in NorthStar’s core grades of 5th – 8th grade. Grixby will plan and deliver on the after-school program elements related to athletics and will establish the initial pilot basketball program, building opportunities for participation beyond the after-school program. Grixby comes to NorthStar from the YMCA of Greater Omaha, where he was the Teen Center/Adult Sports Director facilitating youth and sports leagues, along with developing and maintaining the youth teen program. In 2003, Grixby graduated from University of Nebraska – Lincoln, a four-year letter winner as a member of the football team, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Sports Management degree at Minnesota State University.
