Dr. Mike McGinnis Named CEO of Goodwill

After conducting an extensive search, the Goodwill (www.goodwillomaha.com) Board of Trustees has announced Dr. Mike McGinnis as the new chief executive officer of Goodwill Industries, Inc., Serving Eastern Nebraska and Southwest Iowa.

Pauli Bishop, a ten year veteran with Goodwill stepped in as the interim CEO, serving in that position for the past year. McGinnis, who has extensive executive level experience in non-profit and military organizations, officially took the reins in October.

He comes to Goodwill from the Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum in Ashland, Nebraska, where he served as executive director since January of 2014. He is the former executive director of Peter Kiewit Institute in Omaha, and previous to that was a professor at Old Dominion University and the U.S. Military Academy at West Point.  Dr. McGinnis has a Ph.D. from the University of Arizona.  His undergraduate degree is from United States Military Academy at West Point.

The announcement culminates a four month search process conducted by the independent firm of Wheless Partners and a search committee comprised of community members Doug Wilwerding, Jay Dunlap, and Shonna Dorsey as well as board members Bob Bertsch, and Scott Semrad. It was led by Erin Limas, chair of the board’s search committee.
