Two of the country’s most prestigious collectors of African American Art are coming to Omaha July 8, 9 and 10.  Bernard and Shirley Kinsey have been invited to Omaha by the Growing & Building Together (GBT) Academy of the Arts to present information about their collection and the positive contributions African Americans have made to the United States.

Events will take place at 12:30 p.m., Friday, July 8 in the Harper Center Auditorium at Creighton University.  The Kinseys will sign books beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Admission is $25 for adults and $15 for students. On Saturday, July 9, the Kinseys will speak at a luncheon at the Omaha Hilton.  An auction will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Tickets are $50. The weekend’s activities close with a final presentation on Sunday, July 10, at the GBT Academy’s location (Greater Beth-el Temple, 1502 North 52nd Street, formerly Beth Israel Synagogue) at 10:30 a.m. and book signing at 1 p.m.  For more information, please visit www.gbtacademyofthearts.org.
