The Heartland Walk for Warmth and Run for Fun will flow through midtown Omaha on Feb. 23, 2013, to raise funds for the Omaha-area Energy Assistance programs, according to Heartland Walk for Warmth, Run for Fun Honorary Chairs Hal and Mary Daub.
Leading up to the event will be the inaugural Restaurant Month at Midtown Crossing, according to Tracey Christensen, event chairperson.
Registration for the Walk is $25 and $35 for the Run, and can be completed online at www.HeartlandWalkforWarmth.org. The fee includes an event stocking hat. Check-in and registration at the event is from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Children under 12 can participate for no entry fee.
In addition, the big tent in Turner Park will have displays and information from the event’s organizers: Omaha Public Power District (OPPD) Metropolitan Utilities District (M.U.D.), Black Hills Energy and Downtown Omaha Inc. (DOI), sponsors, Midtown Crossing, Blue Cross Blue Shield Nebraska, KETV and the Big O 101.9 Radio.
