On Saturday June 23rd over 400 people came out in the wind and rain to raise money to send foster kids to summer camp. The participants in the Happy Camper Run came out to support the programs of Royal Family Kids’ Camp Omaha, which has provided summer camps and a mentoring program for local foster kids and teens since 2004. Runners and joggers of all ages came out for the 5K race, many of whom reported that getting soaked in the rain made for a fun, refreshing race. The skies cleared up for the 1 Mile race, the majority of the participants in this fun run/walk were families and young children who enjoyed the event together.
Thanks to many generous corporate sponsors and a large turnout for the race, over $10,000 was raised to send foster kids to summer camp.
