Open Door Mission to Host 5th Annual Mission Possible 5K/10K Run
Open Door Mission’s (opendoormission.org) 5th Annual Mission Possible 5K/10K Run event, sponsored by Runza, will take place on Sunday, June 10 at Shadow Lake Town Center outside of Dick’s Sporting Goods. Please consider joining to support the cause – bring your friends and family, walk or run this stroller-friendly course together and you’ll be helping Open Door Mission continue its community outreach in the Omaha Metro.
Last year this event raised funds for more than 10,000 meals for those that are hungry and homeless in the Omaha community. Open Door Mission is looking to beat that number this year in order to help even more people in need. Go to opendoormission.org and click on “Events” for registration options.
Open Door Mission has been active in breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty since 1954. Each day, the Mission offers 816 safe shelter beds, over 2,100 meals, and provides homelessness prevention measures to more than 1,000 people, empowering them to remain in their homes.
