Comprehensive Epilepsy Center Earns Highest Designation

The Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Nebraska Medicine has again been recognized as a level 4 epilepsy center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers, providing the highest level of care to patients with seizures and epilepsy. Level 4 centers use a multi-disciplinary approach and offer intense neuro-diagnostic monitoring and treatment forms including medications and surgical options.

It is currently the only hospital in the state to be a level 4 center for both adults and children. Patients have access to specialty medications, social work, nurse case management, neuropsychology, neurosurgery, registered dietician-provided diet options and community resources.

In addition to offering the latest in surgical therapy, the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Nebraska Medicine also has the largest neurostimulation program in the region. It’s the only epilepsy center in Nebraska and Iowa to offer Responsive Neurostimulation Therapy.

The accreditation certifies the Comprehensive Epilepsy Center at Nebraska Medicine as a level 4 epilepsy center for both 2017 and 2018.
