If you are you looking for a unique company retreat or customer appreciation event try Pheasant Bonanza Hunt Club in Tekamah, Nebraska.

Do you work with people who love the outdoors and sportsman activities?  If you’re looking for a combination of relaxing in a comfortable and beautiful environment while also having the opportunity for some great outdoor activities, planning an event at Pheasant Bonanza Hunt Club might be for you.  Pheasant Bonanza is located just outside of Tekamah, Nebraska (about an hour drive North of Omaha nestled in the Loess Hills).  Pheasant Bonanza offers the opportunity for guests to hunt, target shoot, eat and relax in a gorgeous lodge that is complete with all of the amenities.  In mid July we decided to try Pheasant Bonanza for ourselves and could not have been more impressed!

Our party arrived early in the evening and were able to enjoy some shooting activities before dinner.  Pheasant Bonanza offers sporting clays, 5-stand, skeet and trap.  They also have multiple games set up for shooting that offer a competitive edge or team building.  Their sporting clay course has 20 stations and is designed to replicate every conceivable shot encountered in the field; from a covey of quail, crossing pheasants, hopping rabbits, quartering grouse, passing geese or decoying ducks.  Their 5-stand features the following shots: outgoing overhead tower, incomer, springing teal, crossing rabbit and both right and left crossing.  The shooting area can be viewed from their heated and air conditioned pavilion which is also used for corporate meetings, banquets, and luncheons.  The skeet and trap field is a great place to learn safety, basic fundamentals, and get a feel for the gun before hunting or shooting the clay course.  Our group had a great time playing “Snooker” which is a competitive game where targets 1-7 are worth different points, and the higher the number the more difficult the shot.  Believe it or not, the ladies had better overall scores than the guys in the group playing “Snooker”.

Dinner came next, and what a dinner it was!  It was prepared by their chef and the meal consisted of bacon-wrapped rib eyes, creamed corn, salad, baked potatoes, fresh baked bread and a Heath cake desert.  Home-cooked meals such as these are available for your party’s convenience.  If you’ve got someone in your party who enjoys cooking,   you’re also welcome to use their kitchen to prepare your own meals! After dinner, we took advantage of the beautiful lodge’s amenities, including the big screen televisions, darts, pool table, shuffle board, full service bar and the large windows that provide an awesome view of a gorgeous sunset.  From the deck of the lodge we had the opportunity to watch General Manager, Trent Leichleiter, do “Blind Retrieves” with his dog Duece, a yellow Labrador. Pheasant Bonanza employs professional dog trainers who provide knowledge and guidance, whether you are training your own dog and want to use training grounds or want them to train your companion.  They specialize in training all types of hunting breeds.  If you are looking to purchase a puppy, started or finished dog, Pheasant Bonanza specializes in breeding German Shorthaired Pointers and Labs.

The lodge and bunk house (just 200 yards from Lodge) has sleeping arrangements for up to 26, so there was plenty of room for us to get a great night’s sleep and be ready for the next day’s activities.  Other activities customers utilize the lodge, bunk house, RV pads, and grounds for is family reunions, weddings, receptions, and personal parties.
The next morning a few of us in our party took a jog around the beautiful grounds, and then we were off to do more clay shooting on the 20 station sporting clay course.  The sporting clay course is a one mile course consisting of wooded areas, prairie, a pond, and hills that all offer beautiful terrain in which to shoot.  If you don’t want to walk and carry all your gear, Pheasant Bonanza has plenty of golf carts available for rental.  Should you forget something, there is a strong possibility that the club will have it in their pro-shop.  The pro-shop can outfit you from “head to toe” for your daily activities, this includes guns that are for sale, gun rentals and shot shells.

If anyone in your party is a hunting fan, Pheasant Bonanza has a hunting area that consists of a thousand acres of prime hunting land.  Their grounds provide an excellent mix of wild terrain, upland birds, white-tailed deer, wild turkeys and migratory waterfowl.  Whether you are a novice or a seasoned hunter, they specifically tailor every hunt to your experience level.  For your convenience, Pheasant Bonanza will provide you with professional guides and fully trained sporting dogs or you can bring your own dog as they are always welcome.  Pheasant and chukar hunting is from September 1- March 31 at Pheasant Bonanza.

Our group consisted of a nice mix of those who enjoy hunting and shooting, as well as those who were completely new to the sport, but one thing for sure; we all had a wonderful time!  Pheasant Bonanza is the perfect place to take a corporate group, your employees or any other group whether large or small for a unique experience they won’t soon forget!
