For the past 15 years, Cox has offered a robust suite of commercial products and services to meet and exceed business needs in the Omaha metro area. Two of the most exciting new developments for our business customers have been Cox WiFi, Cox Business Internet Gateway and Guest WiFi.
Cox WiFi officially arrived in the Omaha metro area early this summer. With more than 500 hotspots, Cox High Speed Internet customers with the Preferred tier or higher and Cox Business customers with CBI 25 or higher have access to WiFi service across the city – at no extra charge. Business customers establish their log-in through their ‘MyAccount’ portal.
Cox customers have Internet access via the hotspots on their smartphones, devices and laptops without depleting mobile data plans. The CoxWiFi hotspots in Omaha are located in Midtown, Dundee, Benson, Capitol Hill, Historical District and many more. A WiFi Hotspot map can be found at www.cox.com/residential/internet/wifi-hotspots.cox. In addition, Cox customers also have access when they travel to the nation’s largest WiFi network of more than 250,000 hotspots. Cable WiFi is made possible by a partnership with Time Warner Cable, Comcast and Brighthouse Networks.
As Cox customers’ needs and behaviors continue to change over time with the explosive growth of smart phones, tablets and other connected devices, Cox WiFi is a value-added service that allows access to reliable high speed Internet in-home and on the go.
Cox Business Internet Gateway and Guest WiFi service is a high-performance gateway that combines a cable modem, router and wireless access point in a single device. It provides a cost-effective networking solution for small to medium sized businesses.
Cox Business customers can access their Cox Business Internet wirelessly anywhere inside their company walls using our dual band Wi-Fi router which is 802.11ac, the fastest Wi-Fi speed available today.
Additionally, an optional dedicated Guest WiFi network through the use of a second gateway device can create dedicated bandwidth for patrons and guests so as not to interfere with business employee Internet usage.
