The Millard Business Association (MBA) held its 8th Annual Awards Gala at the Georgetowne Club on April 28th with an “Evening in Tuscany” theme.  The following awards were presented:  Millard Business Landmark Award: SkateDaze (Scott Cernik); Millard Citizen of the Year: Brad Rohrig (Cartridge World); Millard Large Business of the Year: Bland & Associates (Mike Seelhoff); Millard Small Business of the Year: Curves for Women (Dawn Phillips); Millard Entrepreneur of the Year: Dr. Michelle Till-Bergman (Millard Vision Center); Millard Business Professional of the Year: Janet Nelson (First National Bank).   In addition, the MBA awarded five Millard area high school seniors with scholarships for $1000 each.  The scholarships were presented by Nebraska Secretary of the State John Gale.

Receiving CARE Awards for their volunteer efforts with Project Wee Care were Kari Scarborough and Black Elk Elementary staff, students and families along with Melissa Kosch, Andersen Middle School Teacher.  The following individuals were inducted into the Millard Business Hall of Fame for their early contributions to the Millard community and laying the foundation to make Millard the prosperous community it is today:  Dr. Ron Witt (Millard Public Schools); Robert “Bob” Bartels (Bartels Feed and Transfer); Richard D. Lewis (Millard Public Schools); Dr. Richard L. Corwine (Millard Public Schools); and Dr. John A. Lammel (Millard Public Schools).
