Strictly Business Omaha Visits Scottsdale, 2009

Photo-North-Valley-Dermatology-dinner-strictly-business-omaha-scottsdaleAs the weather turned colder in Nebraska, our staff decided to head for a warmer destination and took a weekend trip to beautiful Scottsdale, Arizona. Our trip included two wonderful restaurants and a relaxing treatment at a dermatology clinic. Read on for more information!

North Valley Dermatology | 14155 North, 83rd Avenue suite #110, Peoria AZ 85381 |(623) 215-0911 |

Angela Lee’s sister-in-law, Dr. Branda LaTowsky, was kind enough to invite us to the clinic where she works, North Valley Dermatology, to have a tour and get some treatments. Noth Valley Dermatology is a practice that encompasses all conditions and diseases that involve the skin, hair and nails. With physicians, associate physicians and laser technicians, North Valley can help with issues from skin cancer to wrinkle reduction and hair removal. We were treated to two very relaxing and rejuvenating facials while we were at the practice and were impressed by the skill of the staff and the way our skin looked and felt the entire weekend. If you’re in the area on business or vacation, schedule a pampering treatment!

Cowboy Ciao | 7133 E Stetson, Scottsdale, AZ |

Looking for a fu n, unique restaurant unlike anything you’ve ever experienced? Cowboy Ciao is right up your alley! This restaurant with inventive fare and a fanciful bent is one of the hottest eateries in Scottsdale and we were lucky enough to get reservations there while we visited. As their website states, Cowboy Ciao began with a vision of an Old West roadhouse, where both ranch hand and city lady would be welcomed and feel comfortable, where a weary traveler could find a satisfying meal served with genuine hospitality and a bit of theatrical flair. As the flagship dining experience by Spaghetti Western Productions, Cowboy Ciao’s aim is simple and true: to thrill each and every guest, every visit, with an entertaining, memorable experience.

We were certainly thrilled, both by the restaurants amazing wine selection (2500 different kinds and counting) as well as their intriguing meals. Some of the highlights were The Stetson Chopped salad, a salty/sweet/chewy/crunchy salad that wowed all of us, the Exotic Mushroom Pan Fry (nine different mushrooms in ancho cream over double-cooked polenta, topped with grilled portabellinin, avocado, tomato and cotija cheese) and the ‘Chicken & Waffles’ (southern style fried chicken wings with sweet corn waffles, sage butter and honey).

If you’re in the Scottsdale area, this restaurant is a must!

Presented in a lively, colorful and dramatically lit space decorated in a style we call Border Baroque*, our aim is simple and true: thrill each and every guest, at every visit, with an entertaining and memorable dining experience.

Ruth’s Chris Steak House | 7001 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite 290 | Scottsdale, AZ 85253 | (480) 991-5988

Ruth’s Chris Steak House had its humble beginnings in 1965, when single mother Ruth Fertel mortgaged her house to buy Chris Restaurant and Bar in New Orleans. Since then, the restaurant has exploded into locations in over half the states in the United States and internationally. We were a little leery about visiting a steakhouse as many of us grew up on ranches and have therefore been used to eating the freshest, best steaks available! However, we have to say that the steaks served at Ruth’s Chris Steak House were among the best we have ever tasted. Carefully selected and aged for tenderness, their steaks are cut thick to ensure juiciness, seared to perfection at 1800 degrees and topped with fresh butter that sizzles on your plate as it’s delivered to your table. With a number of side dishes to compliment your steak (including seven different types of potatoes, eight different vegetable options and a variety of tempting salads), you’ll be able to put together a perfectly balanced, delicious meal.

Of course, if steak isn’t your favorite, Ruth’s has plenty of other options to choose from, including lamb chops, fresh lobster and stuffed chicken breast. With its upscale atmosphere, delicious menu and full bar, Ruth’s Chris is the perfect locale for a date night or a relaxing dinner out with friends.
