A typical family of five can expect to spend almost $100 for a night at the movies, more than $125 for a night of community theater, and almost $300 for professional touring theater. With arts programs in schools having been decimated by the pandemic and habitual underfunding, the number of school children who have ANY interaction with theater – at ANY level – is exceptionally low, at best.

Nebraska Shakespeare (www.nebraskashakespeare.com) provides world-class, professional productions of Shakespeare’s plays in Elmwood Park for FREE as well as a professional, State-wide fall touring production that focuses on serving rural and underserved communities throughout the State, bringing professional productions to their schools and community centers.

Shakespeare on the Green

Now in our 36th season – and having served more than 800,000 patrons – this signature program brings together the very best in theater professionals from all over the United States to create exceptional, world-class, professional FREE productions in Elmwood Park.
