Andy’s Appliance Repair services all brands and types of kitchen and laundry appliances.  Their focus is on providing the highest level of service in major appliance repair, and all employees are Factory Certified/Trained by most every major manufacturer. Tanner Andrews is the owner of Andy’s Appliance Repair.

How did you get started in the business? – Andy’s Appliance Repair is a 3rd generation family business, which isn’t easy to accomplish.  I grew up in the business but had gone to school and was in a different field.  My father gave me a call one day about 11 years ago and as a result, I decided to come back into the family business.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Our biggest challenge has been growing while simultaneously maintaining that small business feel. We really focus on the service aspect and making the process as smooth as possible for our customers. As we have grown, we have especially focused on not losing that and I think we have done a very good job so far.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – The most important achievement to me is anything that recognizes our company as a whole. Team achievements mean the most because it shows that our entire team is taking ownership of the company and collectively serving our customers.

Tell me a little about your family. – I am married to my wife, Faith, who has her BSN.  We have two children; our daughter Taylor, 13 and son Trae, 11 who are both very active in music and sports.  With everyone so busy, we work hard to make spending time as a family a priority.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Since this rarely happens, our family really enjoys it when we just get to be lazy and hang out for a day.

What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know? – Last year my friend Steve Lucchino and I completed the World’s Toughest Mudder, a 24-hour obstacle course endurance event. It was easily the most challenging physical accomplishment of my life!

What are you the most proud of? – Professionally I am most proud of growing our family business.  When I first started, I was worried that I was going to be the one that failed and it was going to end with me.  For the first three years I owned the company I was really stressed.  I just came to realize that I had a great team around me, and as long as we remembered who we were and kept our values that everything was going to work out.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – No matter how busy you are, “life is about living” and you need to enjoy what you are doing.

If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be? – I have done small business consulting and enjoy it a lot. Coaching and helping people see their potential is truly rewarding.

If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be? – Steve Jobs.  The man was brilliant, abrasive, visionary, confrontational, etc.  For every great quality there was an equal and opposite negative quality.  It just goes to show that everyone is flawed but I doubt that there would be very many people who could ever match his passion.
