River City Six – Megan Keyser
Meet Megan Keyser, sales intern at Strictly Business.
Tell us a little about your business.
I like to describe Strictly Business as a connecting tool between business-minded individuals of the community. My job as one of the publication’s sales interns is to adhere these people to our network. We offer our clients the opportunity to share who they are in a unique format, and we share insight from local experts on various topics and what’s happening in the local marketplace.
How did you get started in the business?
I’m studying marketing, management, and sales at UNL, so this role lines up perfectly with my studies. I’m a member of the Center for Sales Excellence. The ability to help so many different people is what I love about the consulting industry. Previously, I worked as a professional services recruiting intern, photographer, and social media manager for an event production company; a marketing intern with a John Deere dealership; a cosmetic artist/consultant; and a server in my younger years.
What has been your most important achievement professionally?
Securing my full-time role as an Omaha recruiter with Aerotek, where I will return to in the Summer of 2020.
Tell us a little about your family.
I was born and raised in Omaha. My parents gifted my two brothers and I with unique life experiences and wholesome character, encouraging us to always focus on a greater good. We have a really big extended family, so I get excited for holiday breaks to spend time with them and our Britney Spaniel, Baxter.
What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life?
This past year of school as I’ve begun to realize the woman I want to be and started chasing her.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off?
Ideally, I’d teleport to a beach. Since science isn’t there yet, you can find me out and about trying new eateries, thrifting, staying active, or taking pictures.
What is the most unique or interesting thing about you that most people probably don’t know?
I’m a three-time triathlete.
What is your favorite quote?
“You didn’t come this far to only come this far.”
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as, what would it be?
If you had a theme song, what would it be?
“She’s Not Just a Pretty Face” by Shania Twain. Honestly, anything Shania. I love women who recognize they can do it all and do.
If you could have a super power, what would it be?
If you could choose any other profession to be successful in, what would it be?
One of my long-term dreams is to open a one-of-a-kind boutique, featuring vintage and unique fashion, décor, and trinkets. I want to give people the ability to express themselves visually through items that that have meaningful stories.
What is your favorite book or the last good book you read?
Renée Rosen’s Park Avenue Summer.
What is your favorite local restaurant?
Hook and Lime. Try the Overnight Brisket Taco and Cilantro Lime Margarita.
If you could have dinner with one famous person from the past or present, who would it be?
Angela Ahrendts. She’s a successful business woman with Midwestern values.
