River City 6: Justin Tangeman

Two Men And A Truck of Omaha is a full-service moving company. From supplying moving boxes and packing supplies and doing a full pack and move cross country to doing as little as coming in and moving furniture around a customer’s house, the company strives to be a role model in the industry, and this is reflected in everything they do. Justin Tangeman is the co-owner of the Two Men And A Truck Omaha franchise.

Tell us a little about your business. – We strive to provide an excellent moving experience for each and every one of our customers. Whether they are moving in Omaha or across the country we will ensure an easy and stress-free move.

How did you get started in the business? – I started as a driver for the Cedar Rapids, IA location in 2008 after college and worked my way up to General Manager in 2012.

What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced professionally? – Finding good, solid employees who are motivated to succeed. It seems like so many people are happy with the position they are in and do not have the drive to take their career to the next level.

What has been your most important achievement professionally? – Helping employees grow in their careers and reach their full potential.

Tell us a little about your family. – I married my high school sweetheart, Jill, in 2012. We have a 1-year-old daughter, Charlie, who we could not love more! Our Golden Retriever, Bella, is also a major part of our family.

What do you see as one of the biggest turning points in your life? – When I took the risk and went from being an employee to being self-employed. It can be tremendously stressful at times but I enjoy having complete control of my career.

What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – Spending time with my family or being in the outdoors, duck hunting, fishing or boating.

Which talent would you most like to have? – I have always wanted to be able to play the guitar.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? – The ability to change a dirty diaper without touching or smelling it!

What are you the most proud of? – I am extremely proud to be a part of a company that takes so much pride in giving back to our community.

What is your favorite book or the last good book you read? – Delivering Happiness by Tony Hsieh is my favorite book.  He explains how creating a great corporate culture that is committed to service will take your business to the next level.

What is your favorite local restaurant? – I love the pork tenderloins at Petrow’s Restaurant!
