Tell us a little about your business in your own words. – 3G Companies (3gcos.com) is a Commercial General Contractor that focuses on construction projects in the following market sectors: Healthcare, Commercial, Education, and Industrial. 3G stands for the Graham Mentality, all decisions are made in the best interest of our clients, The Graham Way, how we provide great work at great value, and the Graham Guarantee, we deliver on our commitments and guarantee it!
How did you get started in the business? – In 1981, John Graham, who was a developer, grew tired of contractors not caring about or treating his construction projects like their own. So, he created Graham Construction, now known in Nebraska and Wisconsin as 3G companies. This is also where one of our Core Values came from. The 3G or Graham Mentality is completing every project from a client’s point of view to build and maintain our most important assets, our long-term relationships.
What has been your most important achievement professionally? – When I joined 3G companies almost 4 years ago, I was very happy as a Project Manager. Fast forward 2 years later, I was given an opportunity to take over the role as Vice President for our Nebraska office.
Tell us a little about your family. – I have been married to my beautiful wife, Nicole Kratochvil, for 12 years. She is a Physician assistant in Blair at the hospital. We have two children, Wyatt is
9 years old and loves football, basketball, archery and baseball. Morgan is 7 years old, and loves swimming, softball, piano and volleyball. We live on an acreage in Arlington.
What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? – I enjoy spending time with my family and any type of hunting or fishing. I love to waterfowl hunt, deer hunt, pheasant hunt, prairie chicken hunt, elk hunt and fish in South Dakota. This year has been very special as my son Wyatt has been joining me on several hunting trips.
Who inspires you? – My parents have always been an inspiration to me. They raised us 3 kids and taught us the value of hard work, drive and the value of your word. They did everything they could do give us the best opportunities in life.
What is your favorite quote or the best piece of advice you’ve ever received? – The best piece of advice I have been given is never stop learning. No matter what your role or position there is always something new you can learn.
What is your favorite movie? – Tombstone or Lonesome Dove.
What is your favorite local Omaha restaurant? – Salted Edge.
If you could choose only one descriptive word to be remembered as what would it be? – Loyal.
What local nonprofit organization(s) are you passionate about or involved with, and are there any special reasons why? – Arlington Youth Foundation. We hold an annual game feed fundraiser every year and raise money for the youth sports in the community.
