Ted E. Bear Hollow has recently announced the appointment of Rebecca Turner as its new Executive Director. Ted E. Bear Hollow is a grief center for children offering regular support groups, day camps and other special programming to help children find hope and healing after the death of a loved one.

Turner’s background at the Nebraska City Chamber of Commerce, which has given her experience in nonprofit leadership, organizational management and change, ensures that the greater Omaha community will continue to receive the quality grief support. The Ted E. Bear Hollow Board of Directors unanimously voted on Turner to succeed Nancy Hemesath who has chosen to retire from the role of executive director.  Hemesath will remain involved as a liaison to help rural communities develop grief support programs.

Ted E. Bear Hollow is the only children’s grief center in the greater Omaha/Council Bluffs area, providing support to bereaved children, teens and their families since 2001.  Ted E. Bear Hollow offers free camps, support groups, and teen retreats to families following the death of a loved one.  More than 700 are served annually in one or more of the programs.  Thousands more benefit from training and education programs offered to the public.
