We are excited to announce that Mitch McCartney has joined the CUES Fund (cuesschools.org) as our new Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Mitch will oversee and manage all aspects of our database systems, risk management, and facilities, bringing a wealth of experience to the organization. Mitch shared his excitement about joining the CUES Fund, saying, “I am thrilled to join the CUES Fund. Education is the key to success for our young people. CUES understands that, and it is truly a privilege to help advance the organization’s mission and work in the community.” Before coming to CUES Fund, Mitch served as the Annual Giving/Direct Marketing Gift Officer at the Food Bank for the Heartland. He has also held positions at the Nebraska Legislature, the Nebraska Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), the Salvation Army Kroc Center, and Heartland Family Service, where he worked in communications, development, and program administration and operations. Mitch holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Nebraska-Omaha and a B.A. in Speech Communications from Nebraska Wesleyan University. Outside of work, Mitch’s wife, Jean, is a pastor at Saint Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Missouri Valley, Iowa. They have a daughter, Maddie, who will graduate this year from Millard North High School, as well as a son, Brian, and daughter-in-law, Brandy, who live in North Carolina with their three children. In addition to his professional experience, Mitch has been a member of the ELCA Church Council since 2022.
