Kayla Leddy of Clearwater Counseling Completes Specialized Victim Training

Kayla Leddy, CEO/co-owner/clinical director at Clearwater Counseling, PC (clearwatercounselingpc.org), a mental health services provider located in both Omaha and Grand Island, recently graduated from the 2019 Nebraska Victim Assistance Academy hosted by Creighton University.

This five-day, 40-hour certificate program provides statewide, standardized academic training for victim service providers and allied professionals. The nationally accredited training session focuses on both interpersonal and professional development, covering more than 25 topics such as communication, empathy, professional advocacy, human trafficking, immigration, mental health, self-care, and understanding traumatic reactions in the brain. The academy was held July 22–26. Leddy intends to utilize this training to further meet the specific needs of her clients.

Clearwater Counseling, PC works with individuals who are struggling with a variety of mental health diagnoses including depression, relationship issues, grief/loss/trauma, addiction and recovery, co-dependency, anxiety and phobias, parenting problems, sexual abuse and incest, physical abuse, and violence, as well as various others.
